Think Local This Holiday Season
December 2013

On this holiday season, a member gave to me….

  • ONE pair of reading glasses (ModernEYES Optical)
  • TWO new sweaters (Fillings)
  • THREE zip lining tickets (Refreshing Mountain Camp & Retreat Center)
  • FOUR ‘dudes’ painting my family room (Two Dudes Painting, Co)
  • FIVE golden rings (Veleska Jewelry)
  • SIX pack of beer (The Taproom Spring House Brewing Co.)
  • SEVEN dancing lessons (City Ballroom)
  • EIGHT honey bears (Dutch Gold Honey, Inc.)
  • NINE theatre  tickets (Fulton Theatre)
  • TEN fruit baskets (Stauffers of Kissel Hill)
  • ELEVEN bags of pretzels (Hammond Pretzel Bakery, Inc.)
  • TWELVE dozen eggs (RW Sauder, Inc.)

So as you are putting together your holiday shopping list, we ask that you keep local businesses in the forefront of your mind, especially during the holiday season.

Every local purchase makes an impact — money spent locally recirculates back into the community helping to expand jobs and fund non-profit and community organizations that serve and help local people. While convenience and lowest price may seem ideal at the time of a purchase, it’s important to think long-term if we truly want to keep our local economy strong.

Start and finish your holiday shopping right by utilizing the countless services and products that are available in our own backyard.

A special thank you to all of the Think Local companies whose products and services we have featured during this video.

On behalf of all of The Chamber Board and staff, we wish you a Happy Holiday and a prosperous 2014.

Until next time, stay informed, stay engaged and stay with us…At the Center.
